Hi, this is Jesus! I am a PhD students at Dartmouth in Biostatistics, but I was doing my masters in Applied Mathematics at Leiden University when I worked for DataStudent.

While doing my Math master I wanted to gain some real world experience to compliment my graduate courses, and DataStudent gave me exactly what I needed. During my time there, I worked alongside clinicians in a hospital to perform the data processing and analysis of a big survey they had performed on Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (DMER).

This offered the opportunity to practice my programming skills, and even more importantly, communication skills that are very relevant if you want to work as a biostatistician, which is my ultimate goal. Meeting with doctors and having to communicate with them made me better at explaining myself and being more pragmatic to solve problems. This work ended up in a research letter published, and definitely helped me in being a better candidate for my current PhD.

DataStudent was very accommodating, the first weeks Luc checked on me to make sure everything was going good and I didn’t need anything else. The work was engaging and respected my time to study for my master. I really recommend it!
